Mike Batiles, CEO of the Cagayan de 0ro/Misamis Oriental Football Association (CMO-FA) met with Gawad Kalinga youth leaders Friday night to discuss the possibility of bringing football into at least 10 GK sites around Cagayan de Oro. During dinner at the Cha-Li Beach Resort in CDO last October 19, Batiles told Ronald Banate--GK team head in Misamis Oriental; Jane Callao--SFC Sagip program head; and Jocelyn Adarne--Siga program head, that he was very interested in bringing a football development program into 10-to-12 Gawad Kalinga communities. If plans push through, the GK Football Program of Cagayan de Oro will be the 2nd in GK sites in the country. The first program is on-going in Metro Manila and is a program designed by National Women's coach Marlon Maro for Paolo Panadero Incorporated, a livelihood project of entrepreneur and former Red Ribbon Bakeshop owner, Danny Moran. Batiles said he would tap the coaches of CMO-FA to get the GK Community football going. |
